St. Petersburg….the new Craft Beer Meca?

Monday, October 19th, 2015

St. Petersburg, FL as seen a surge in craft breweries. St. Pete Brewery, 3 Daughters, Cycle Brewery, and Green Bench to name a few. Each has its own vibe. As far as atmosphere, 3 Daughters combines a huge game room and great beer. Definitely one of my favorite spots. I am trying to get a handle on if anyone has visited these breweries in and comment on your favs.

Of course girls keep beer in the fridge!

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

I was listening to XM radio the other day to a show called Cocktails with Patrick. Some ignorant guy called in and said he thinks it is weird if a girl keeps beer in her fridge! He saw that as a sign that she is probably sleeping around, since no girls like beer! I did want to call, but decided to laugh it off instead! Of course, my response would have been, “What is wrong with girls who actually LIKE the taste of beer!” And….what man wouldn’t love to come to a women’s home if it was full of craft brews! I would think many men would think it cool! Low maintenance women with good taste!

Rocky Mtn. IPA

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Last night I went to BJ’s…it is a brewery restaurant. Unfortunately, there are not many in FL. Instead of getting one of BJ’s beers, I opted for the Rocky Mtn. IPA they had on tap. It was AWESOME! It had a smooth texture and a great hoppy taste. It went down easy and I highly recommend it!

Women Created Beer?

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

I heard the other day that ancient Finland and England credit women as the ones who originally made beer! It even goes as far back as 7,000 years ago in early Mesopotamia. Apparently,it was a drink for your health! Even Queen Elizabeth had beer for breakfast! Go Girls! I will have to further research that one!

Malheur Ale

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Had some delicious Malheur ale with some great friends last night. Malheur comes in a 750 ml bottle. It is a belgian dark ale with hints of nuts and fruit. It goes down very smooth and as my friend decribed it like barley wine. Those Belgians sure know how to make great beer!

Girls who only like light beer

Friday, March 26th, 2010

My very best friend Esther came to visit me. She is like many girls (not us beer princesses) that order Mich Ultra and the like! That is fine, but I bet if she gave some “real” beer a try she would find that there is more to beer than what is out there! If you are worried about the calories, just drink it slower! It is worth the taste for sure!

Magic Hat Vinyl Lager

Friday, March 12th, 2010

First of all I would like to comment on the extremely cool design of Magic Hat Vinyl Lager. You have to check out the label! It has a psychedelic look to it and has a little of that “girlie” look for us Beer Princesses! The beer is a seasonal spring lager; however, it is suprisingly dark in color and extremely flavorful! I think this is going to be my spring seasonal favorite of the year!

Home Brews

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Just got back from visiting my brother in Charlotte, NC. My brother is an awesome brewer! His day job doesn’t do him justice and he should definately find a career in micro brewing! I am so impressed every time I try one of his brews! It is an extra treat to visit him just to get to sample them! He had a number of different brews available for my drinking pleasure on this visit. They were: Oregon Pale Ale, English Special Bitter, English Brown Ale, Old Peculiar Dark Ale and a “Blue Moon” imposter! All were excellent! My favorites had to be the Oregon Pale Ale and the English Brown Ale! I wish they were available for sale, because they would be top sellers! Anyway….I have not been as successful in my attempts to brew beer myself (I will save that for another day). I guess I should just stick to sampling and critiquing!!!

For the love of beer….

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Pretty girls like beer too!  I think it was my brother who helped me discover the taste of really good beer.  I am not talking about generic Bud or the like, but really good beer.  There are so many varieties that I have decided to make tasting different beer a real passion of mine!  So often I am in a restaurant and order a Pale Ale or the like only to have the waiter say…”Are you sure?”, “Girls don’t normally like that variety.”  Well, I don’t agree!  I know there are plenty of us “girlie girls” who appreciate a good ale or microbrew.

Hello world!

Welcome to!  While my blog is being uploaded and configured by my favorite drinking buddy, I am off to Europe for some time with family, and serious brew research!  I’ll be back soon with great tales and great ales!  For now, my work is on the table, delivered by the pint!

Have a Happy New Year!
